With the tagline “the world’s lightest 6-inch e-reader with multitouch screen,” the new Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1 is really something to write home about. The device, which comes in at 168 grams and is no bigger than a paperback, allows avid readers to buy, borrow and download free books wherever there is a Wi-Fi connection.
Wide Range of Features
The device allows users to enhance their reading experience by taking notes, highlighting sentences with their finger or the attached stylus, and accessing definitions and translations by simply double-tapping a word. There is the pinch and zoom option and and users can set the cover of their favourite book as the screensaver. All this can be done on the advanced glare-free, high contrast E-Ink Pearl V220 touch screen.
The Sony Reader Wi-Fi, which is compatible with commonly used file formats such as PDF, TXT and EPUB, comes with 2GB internal storage space and microSD expansion of up to 32GB. This means that users can store around 1,200 books on the reader's in-built memory alone.
Long Battery Life
With a battery life of around 3 weeks to a month, or the equivalent of 14,000 page turns, the Sony Reader Wi-fi is bound to keep bookworms happy.
The Sony reader Wi-Fi also has a headphone jack for those wishing to listen to audio books or music. The device comes in black, white and red.
